Skiing
Hotel Rento is located on the crossroads of many ski tracks. It does not matter what direction you are choosing – you will definitely find a ski track on your way! Just across the road from hotel there is a “first snow” track that is artificially maintained already from mid November till mid April!
Moreover, our guests are free to use storage for their equipment.
Floating in lake Saimaa (1h)
Experience floating in icy water safely in drysuits. These special suits will keep you warm and dry even in extreme conditions and sub zero temperatures. You can choose whether you want to float in great lake Saimaa or river Vuoksi!
Sauna and spa
After an active day sauna is the very place to relax and enjoy authentic Finnish experience!
Sauna is open in the evening for hotel guests. However, you can also rent our wonderful and spacious sauna with a separate fireplace room for private use, starting from 100€ / 2 hours, every extra hour is 50€.
Nordic tour skating
Have you ever tried skating on a frozen lake? If not, Saimaa Lake is the very place to try it for the first time or repeat this unforgettable experience one more time!
Every Tuesday you can join this adventure for 12 eur (5 eur for kids). At the beginning, you are going to get briefed by an instructor about basic safety rules, and afterwards the fun time begins!
Ski resorts
Less than 30 minute drive away are two ski resorts: Myllymäki in Joutseno and FreeSki in Ruokolahti.
Chum and reindeers
Experience a reindeer sleigh ride in beautiful winter nature of Saimaa Lake!
Price: 42 euros / person, children (2-12 years) enjoy a 50% discount
Price includes:
- Snowmobile ride to chum tent and back to your hotel
- Lunch at the chum tent (soup or a smoked fish dish prepared on open fire
- Reindeer sleigh rid
N.B. Min 4 participants are required.
Ice fishing (3 hours)
Ice fishing program is far beyond simple fishing. The participant will have a ride on a snowmobile sleigh, find out all the ice fishing secrets from a professional and, of course, have a chance to share their stories on a picnic afterward that is also included in the price.

Snowmobile safari
This exciting safari takes you through breathtaking terrain and views along the roads by Lake Saimaa. This activity is perfectly suitable for the whole family.
